Jason Brown is the founder and CEO of Organic To Go, a three-year-old cafe chain and catering company that sells meals made with organic or natural ingredients.

"My father was a giver; he would help people all the time. He was a sweet philanthropist who had a large restaurant, and he would feed people.

I haven't done a lot of philanthropy, but I take building a company really seriously. I pick something that will give back to society, because I've been blessed in my life and I believe that my mission in life is to give back and do well -- for my stakeholders, my family and society in general.

Organic To Go was created to be a 100-year-old company, a legacy company. To build a legacy, you need to figure out the right platforms and foundations that matter, and that means giving back.

And Athena is part of our legacy. Athena is The One. Organic To Go sold over 200,000 bottles of Athena water last year.

People love that we're carrying Athena. They think it says that we're honorable, that we're more than being a business. And I want my kids to be proud of the things that I do in life."

- As told to Marion Daniel
